Project Utthan is an initiative to create model districts in East Delhi. As part of the multi-pronged programme, 1000 frequent offenders, enlisted in 16 police stations of East Delhi, underwent the ‘Youth Leadership Training Programme’ (YLTP); 200 new youths are ready to join the next batch of the training programme. The YLTP Programme uplifts the youth by instilling self esteem, and confidence and enabling them to take responsibility for themselves, their community and the country.
Addressing the public on the successful completion of the first Youth Leadership Training Programme, Sri Sri emphasised the need to help those in crime and give them a new chance to integrate with the mainstream. He urged, “Expand your vision and see that inside every culprit there is a victim crying for help. If you heal the victim, you will eliminate crime from the planet.”
The YLTP graduates had gathered at the Yamuna Sports Complex to share their life-transforming experiences and interact with Sri Sri for guidance on how they can become catalysts of community development in their respective areas.
